Ear Cinema is an installation and live performance inside an eight-metre cube made of four canvas screens. Four projectors run animation and film across the screens while two performers play characters in front of them. Eight speakers use ambisonics to place sound precisely around the space. The audience stands inside the cube, among the screens and performers.
The piece comes from Expanded Cinema, a tradition of film and video work that makes watching a live, physical event and takes cinema out of the usual arrangement of seats facing a screen.
