SoundHoppers brings deep listening practice to children aged 5 to 11, and to older people through SoundHoppers Seniors. Sessions use games and exercises to train attention to proximity, timbre and volume, the same attention that composers and sound artists work with. Participants use Soundboxes, transducers and other devices to hear how sound moves through different materials.
SoundHoppers Seniors runs in Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside, with Holy Trinity Community Centre and Age UK Ashton.
...they are welcoming to all and help us to show that the library isn't just a silent space to read books in.
